I met Gerda through a local arts group in my Northern California hometown. She was zany and fun, an immigrant from Germany who died her hair purple, wore brightly-colored glasses and never disclosed her age. As a ceramics artist located in the northern Sierra Nevada foothills, Gerda became known especially for her clay masks and bustiers.  A few years ago, Gerda Francesca approached me about helping her design a book of her artwork. An active member of the PlacerArts Association and regular participant in the Auburn Art Walk, she wanted to display her past works to gallery visitors. I was happy to help her gather up her photographs and make this book for her, which we self-published on Blurb.
